Buquet was granted the patent for his 'angle poise' lamp in 1927. His designs proved immensely popular and were to be found in many of the interiors of the time by such designers as Marcel Breuer, Louis Sognot and Marcel Coard. The enduring appeal of these 'truly functional' designs was mentioned in all the leading periodicals from 1928-1937 although his name was not so widespread.
This particular design is extremely rare if not unique by virtue of the mirrored sections on the inside of the shade.
