Lot Essay

This copy of Renauld's 1879 praxinoscope appears to have been produced and listed for a very short period and consequently is very rare. It is recorded in a 1900 Ullmann & Engelmann catalogue with the code number 04846. A simpler variant of this device (code number 04845) is listed in Ariel Cinematographica Register no. 1043.
