French; mid-19th century, with coloured print with gilt decoration depicting a woman with a lantern, two lovers and cupid with credit Canu, by rotating the top a different subject of six appears in the window, with a paper-lined bottom compartment, the sides with gold-painted embossed foliate pattern paper band and gilt-metal rim -- 9cm. (3½ in. diameter)
