Palms wrap their 'krater-vase' nozzles, issuing from festive fruit-baskets, symbolising Peace and Plenty. More palms flower the plinths' arabesque reliefs, whose lyre-scrolled trophies comprise swans, that draw the sun-deity Apollo's chariot at night. Such poetic and luxuriant ornament recalls the lamp and candelabra patterns included in the Collection de dessins d'ornement ............. des Meubles, des Bronzes etc., issued by Jacob Petit in the 1820s.
