Cal. 43, with gilt-finished three quarter plate lever movement, 15 jewels, blued screws, bimetallic compensation balance, gold cuvette, the white enamel dial with Arabic numerals, sunk centre and subsidiary seconds, gold Louis XV hands, in plain later Lucia case, together with later fitted A. Lange & Söhne presentation box with spare main spring and crystal, later certificate, Uhrenmuseum Glashtte certificate, copy from the registers and copy of the invoice for the later changed case, case signed, cuvette stamped, dial and movement signed

Lot Essay

The watch was originally sold on 29 November 1892 to Drrstein & Co. Dresden, founder of Uhrenfabrik Union in 1893.

A new case was made by special order of Walter Wittfeld, Dresden, dated 26 June 1924, and delivered on 18 October 1924.
