With nickel-finished jewelled lever movement, the solid gold dial with engraved Roman numerals on engine-turned chapter ring, centred by an engraved scene depicting the Taj Mahal, in circular water-resistant-type case with downturned lugs, the back with engraved inscription secured by five screws, together with an 18K gold Corum buckle, Corum Certificate, original fitted presentation box and outer packaging, case, dial and movement signed

Lot Essay

The Golden Anniversary Watch was specially made for the 50th anniversary of India's Independence in 1997 and produced in a limited series of 50 examples only.

The image of the 'Taj Mahal' is hand-engraved on the solid gold dial.
The engraved inscription on the back reads Golden Anniversary 50th Year of India's Independence 1947 - 1997.
