With nickel-finished jewelled lever movement, the white engine-turned dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, inscription 1947-1997, secret signature at VII, sweep centre seconds, window for date, in rectangular curved case with enlarged sides, sapphire-set crown, the back secured by eight screws, together with an 18K pink gold Cartier deployant clasp, Cartier Certificate, original fitted presentation box and outer packaging, case, dial and movement signed

Lot Essay

This Tank model was specifically designed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of India's Independence in 1997. It was procuded in a limited edition of 50 examples worldwide.

The case back is engraved with the inscription India 1997 and numbered 42/50.
