A VICTORIAN BRASS-MOUNTED MAHOGANY, BIRD'S EYE MAPLE AND MARQUETRY WHATNOT
First Half 19th Century
Having three shaped tiers centrally inlaid with foliate-scroll cartouches, the top with three-quarter pierced gallery and surmounted by floral-cast finial on turned supports ending in hoof feet, with handwritten label to underside of top inscribed This whatnot was given to the Hon ble Charlotte Eliza Arbuthnot by the Duke of Wellington in 1839
