A fine mid-19th Century 6in. radius vernier sextant by G. Whitbread
with oxidised brass lattice frame, the polished arc numbered 1901 with inset silvered scale divided 2½°- 0°- 150°, signed G. Whitbread, London, G.A.L.T. and further engraved with the name A.B. Evans, R.N., the index arm with vernier fine scale adjustment and swivel magnifier, telescope, six shades and two mirrors, the reverse with polished rosewood handle, contained within a fitted and lined mahogany case with accessories and trade label for Whitbread...2 Grenada Terrace -- 9in.
