An early 19th Century ebony and brass 10in. radius vernier octant by H. Syred
the arc with inset ivory scale divided 2½°- 0°- 100°, vernier clamp and fine screw adjustment, the cross bar with inset ivory plaque signed H. Syred 166 Park Lane Liverpool, five shades (one missing), two mirrors, turned ivory pencil, double pinhole sight, note plaque to reverse and brass pin feet -- 12in. (30cm.)
