The wooden racing yawl Bingo was designed and built by Harris Brothers at Rowhedge, Essex in 1901. Originally rigged as a cutter and altered in 1908, she was registered at 15½ tons gross (12¼ net) and measured 45½ feet in length with an 11 foot beam. Kept at Colchester for most of her early life, by the mid-1930's she had been renamed Varesta and was sailing out of Jersey where she remained throughout the Second World War and into the 1950's. Renamed Odette but still Jersey-owned, she disappears from record around 1960.
