Lot Essay

The wooden three-masted barque Panthea was built on Prince Edward Island, in the maritime provinces of Canada, in 1856. British-registered in Aberystwyth, she was 297 tons gross and owned by J. Jones & Co., master, Captain J. Jones. Trading out of Liverpool to South America, she disappears from record in 1865, fate unknown.
