Lot Essay

Laid down and launched as the Architect, Isabelle changed her name when purchased by E. Bories of Bordeaux in 1897. Built at Port Glasgow by Cunliffe & Dunlop in 1880, she was registered at 2,276 tons and measured 302 feet in length with a 34½ foot beam. When the firm of E. Bories went into liquidation in 1905, Isabelle was sold to Magnano of Genoa who scrapped her in October the same year.
