Lot Essay

Although Braque completed ten Cubist plates in 1909-11, at the height of his collaboration with Picasso, only two were printed contemporaneously, the current subject and Job (V. 5). The other plates, rediscovered in Braque's studio were published by Maeght in the 1950's.
