The clock as a high-relief panel depicting a prince and his retenue entering Paris, cheered-on by the crowd, the town hall bell tower centred by a dial, the movement inscribed S. MARTI ET CIE MEDAILLE DE BRONZE, striking on a gong, the apron inscribed L'hotel de ville 1358 Etienne Marcel, signed to the side A. MILLIOT; the barometer en suite, the apron inscribed Paris en 1649 le roy des halles, also signed to the side; each on an arched wooden base
