The domed lid surmounted by a pine cone finial, the inside inscribed Combat de coqs du Sérail à Constantinople, with underglazed blue double L mark and initials S D, inscribed Slamboul, above a waisted neck, the ovoid body depicting a cockerel fight in a palace on the Bosphorus, the back with a soldier in similar palace, on a circular spreading socle, on a shaped square base
