A set of twenty French giltwood dining chairs
In the Régence Style, Circa 1905
Comprising two armchairs and eighteen chairs, each upholstered with black leather; the armchairs each surmounted by a serpentine back rail centred by an acanthus cartouche, above a padded back, the front with a gilt-tooled princely coat-of-arms inscribed PRO REGE ET PATRIA, the back with initials ISI surmounted by a princely coronet, the padded seat flanked to each side by a scroll handle, the scroll apron centred by a cartouche, on four square tapering legs, each headed by a lambrequin, joined by an 'X'-shaped stretcher centred by scrolls, on square toupie feet; the chairs en suite (20)
