Born in Lille in 1841, Léonard Van Weydeveld, called Agathon Léonard (d.1923) first exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1868. He mainly worked in the Art Nouveau style. He is celebrated for his Jeu de l'écharpe, manufactured in biscuit by Sèvres as well as cast in bronze by Susse.
