Each as a scantily clad young lady, Day standing on a fireball, on a square plinth signed Drouot to the side, the front with a plaque inscribed LE JOUR PAR DROUOT (Médaille aux Beaux-Arts); Night on a globe with stars, holding a moon crescent, on a square base signed E. Drouot to the side, the front with a plaque inscribed LA NUIT PAR DROUOT (Médaille aux Beaux-Arts), both with a plaque to the side inscribed EXPOSITION UNIVERSELLE 1900 MÉDAILLE D'OR

Lot Essay

Born in Sommevoire in 1859, Edouard Drouot first exhibited at the Paris Salon. He specialised in allegorical and mythological figures and scenes.
