Lot Essay

According to Sumer's family tradition, this trophy was head of the Yellowstone herd in 1935. The remainder of the buffalo provided a buffalo robe which was featured on the west side of the Great Room draped over the balcony, as seen in the undated Page & Hill catalogue illustrating the 'Lodge' upon completion.
