Of natural form pointed to one end, engraved AV and with remains of ink inscription on one side, dark creamy patina, pierced each end and attached to long cord of elaborately plaited coconut fibre
The tooth 17cm. long
Provenance
When sold by Christie's (April 26, 1977, lot 78) the tooth's history was recorded as having been collected by Capt. Cardale on H.M.S. Torch from 1903 to 1906. He was presented with the TAMBUA on the 21st October 1904 following a fire-walking ceremony at Suva, Fiji
