Mid 17th Century, the silver with indistinct maker's mark only, possibly HGA, the Netherlands, circa 1700
The pear-shaped ewer painted with a continuous scene depicting two servants bringing a qin and jar to a scholar reclining against a rock below a willow tree, between floral bands repeated on the curved spout and handle, the neck with upright stylised tulips (minute rim chip to spout, frittings)
