Probably designed by William Morris, early 1860s
Repeating design depicting fruit laden trees, herons taking flight and scrolls with the inscription in Gothic script qui bien aime tard oublie ("who loves well forgets slowly"), the whole embroidered in crewel wool 'brick' stitch on linen
