Lot Essay

Douglas Davidson, brother of Angus Davidson, was associated with the London Group and the London Artists Association. Both he and his brother were close friends of Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant. He collaborated with the Bloomsbury artists on several projects. Davidson is known to have contributed to the decoration of George ('Dadie') Rylands sitting-room at King's College, Cambridge and a carpet worked from one of his designs can be seen at Charleston.
