An English George III mahogany wine cooler, basically early 19th century
Of sarcophagus form, the cover inset to the centre with a boxwood floral patera within a rectangular rosewood panel, set in a further flame mahogany panel with inset quarter shell paterae to the corners, the edge of the cover cavetto moulded, with conforming inset paterae to the front of the concave moulded body, on four waisted bracket feet (possibly later), the (later) interior fitted with decanter compartments and with three associated glass decanters and stoppers -- 18½in. (47cm.) wide, 13½in. (34.2cm.) high, 13¼in. (33.6cm.) deep
