A pair of French patinated and gilt bronze ewers, last quarter 19th century
Cast overall with trailing grape vines on a punched ground, the handles with cherub mounts issuing from the rims descending to grotesque masks at the bodies, the main register cast with putti representing the Arts and Sciences, the undersides with imbricated acanthus leaves above a waisted socle, on a spreading fluted circular base above a further cavetto edged base -- 22¾in.
