Jean-Baptiste Saint-Yves specialised in the 'garniture de tabatières et de tabletterie'; nevertheless, Serge Grandjean (Les tabatières du musée du Louvre, Paris, 1982, p. 242, no. 349) considered the bonbonnière in the Louvre as the only recorded work of this goldsmith.
