A VIENNESE BIEDERMEIER SILVER-MOUNTED MOTHER-OF-PEARL NÉCESSAIRE

Case in the shape of a chest of drawers set with large mother-of-pearl plaques with reeded silver mounts, a silver coat-of-arms applied on the front side, the hinged lid opening to reveal a mirror mounted at the inside of the lid and 21 implements fitted in the base, including a pair of silver-capped cut glass bottles with glass stoppers, a pair of elongated glass bottles with porcelain stoppers, a mirror with silver easel stand, five-leaved tablets, a pair of scissors, silver pencil-holder, double folding knife with white handle, silver tweezers with incorporated ear-spoon, and many other implements, the two lowest drawers opening as secret compartments
