Oval box, the cover, side and base panels with translucent blue enamel on various engine-turned grounds within borders of gold paillon scallops and white bands, the cover centred with an oval enamel miniature of a gentleman in russet coat, white powdered wig and black wig-bag, within a gold and blue paillon scalloped border, with white enamel and foliate gold paillon ribbon-tie surmount and gold paillon leaf base, both cover and base on a radiating wavy sunburst engine-turning, the sides with horizontal wavy guilloché divided by rectangles enamelled with flower vases on plinths in red, silver and gold paillons
