Geneva, circa 1850, maker's mark 'CM', with pseudo-Russian marks
Rectangular box with rounded corners, the cover centred with a cartouche enamelled en plein with an Oriental nobleman seated on a tiger's skin in a palace with view, caressing a young lady, on a multi-colour enamelled and engraved foliage arabesque gold ground, sides and base similarly engine-turned and enamelled, slightly raised plain thumbpiece
