A FINE AND RARE SMALL CLOISONNE WINE CUP
EARLY 15TH CENTURY

The cup is decorated on the interior with white, red, yellow, green and turquoise enamels arranged into a wavy blade-like pattern radiating around the central medallion formed of a yinyang symbol, the yellow-enamelled exterior decorated with a band of raised circular loops below the bound mouth rim and lotus petals, each enclosing a ruyi-head, around the base, the foot ring and base gilded, minor enamel losses
2 3/4 in. (6.9 cm.) diam.
