A RARE INCISED WHITE-GLAZED GARLIC-HEAD VASE
WANLI SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD

The pear-shaped vase rises to a waisted neck with a garlic-bulb rim, intricately incised on one side with a jardiniere planted with flowering chrysanthemums issuing from behind a pierced ornamental rock, the motif repeated on the other side with peony blooms, planters divided by a pair of lion-mask escutcheons (star hairline to body)
