Each with a fluted spreading column with acanthus-clasps and lappeted and acanthus capital, issuing scrolled serpentine candlebranches with lappeted drip-pans and foliate nozzles on scrolled acanthus feet and a concave-sided tripartite base, on scrolled feet and shaped apron, lacking one nozzle

Lot Essay

Related antique candelabrum patterns, with altar-tripod plinths, feature in a metal-worker's pattern-book of the George IV period preserved at the Victoria & Albert Musuem (J. Bourne, Lighting, London, 1991, fig. 577).
