Lot Essay

M. Didier-Lambert (1909-1962) was an active member of the French Resistance and played an important role in the Resistance movement in the South-West of France during World War II. After the Liberation, he was asked by the French authorities to create the first financial review in France "La Vie Franaise." The first edition was published as early as April 1945 and was immediately a decisive support to the Reconstruction of the French ecomony.

The Wildenstein Institute will include this painting in their forthcoming Vlaminck catalogue raisonné.
