Each with a rectangular toprail centred by a still life of roses and other flowers in a wicker basket flanked by panels each with a pair of trumpets and a laurel wreath, above a pierced vertical central splat, with downswept arms decorated with foliage on turned tapering baluster supports, the caned seat with squab cushion covered in yellow buttoned material with a white fleck pattern, the seat-rail with a still life of fruit and flowers flanked by panels of acorns, the ring-turned tapering legs headed by foliage and decorated with trailing vines, one chair stamped to the underside 'FROM W. WILLIAMSON & SONS GUILDFORD'and 'FROM', refreshments to decoration, variations in the length of the arms (2)

The compass-fronted chairs each decorated with a basket of flowers in a tablet, bear the stamp of William Williamson and Sons (active 1790-1840), cabinet-makers and upholsterers of Guildford, Surrey (The Dictionary of English Furniture Makers 1660-1840, Leeds, 1986, p. 983).
