Sinew sewn, beaded in yellow, green, geodesic, various shades of blue and translucent red against a white lazy-stitched ground, bottom section depicting a cavalry soldier shaking hands with a Sioux warrior, surmounted by an American Flag and a pipe stem and bowl, top section with pocket, decorated with geometric designs accented with tin cone suspensions and dentallia with inserted orange dyed horse hair, reverse depicting a mounted warrior surmounted by a pair of Thunder Birds, below parfleche slats wrapped with ivory and dyed blue and red porcupine quillwork

An outstanding example of Lakota pictographic beadwork is displayed in this pipebag. This bag was, no doubt, made to commemorate an event in which the owner of the bag took part. Another interesting addition to the bag is the small fully beaded pouch attached above the beaded panel area.
