A brass sliding barrel corkscrew,
with two inner spikes and clutch and hardwood acorn handle (no brush), the barrel bearing markings Robert Jones & Son, Birmingham, registered V.R..
Footnote: The sliding inner sleeve on this corkscrew is brass, the same material in the outer barrel, whereas similar examples sold recently have had a steel inner shaft, also note that the bands of ornamental palmetts are poorly cast.
