Of cylindrical form, the inside inlaid with gold foil, the outside carved with Chinese characters between leiwen bands, signed Qianlong yuti, 'carved by Imperial command of the Qianlong Emperor'

The inscription reads ya jiao tu zhuan gu (qin) lin fu jian ci xu zhong li xiang gua yuan wai yue ying gui ju zheng pei huan yong jin cheng jin cheng xi shi zi shei neng lian ming zhong cha bu kui huan qi Qianlong yuti (and seal mark), which may be translated as 'Ivory objects convey the ancient style jade [however] is of a much more durable nature its core is hollow, while it still has substance its shape is round like a full moon alas! its use goes beyond its beauty when handling bow and arrow, it is of utmost use the one who is able to hit the target won't have regretted to wear this ring Inscribed by Imperial command in the Qianlong reign period'.
