IMPRESSED HU WENMING MARK, LATE 16TH/EARLY 17TH CENTURY
The vessel finely cast, the compressed body decorated with dragons and mythical beasts between a band of kui dragons and butterflies below the rim and at the foot, divided by dragon mask and ring handles to the sides, all gilded and reserved on a ring-punched ground, the base with the mark Hu Wenming Zhi within a gilded square
6¾ in. (17cm.) diam.
