Exhibition of Jingdezhen Wares: The Yuan Evolution, Fung Ping Shan Museum, Hong Kong, 1984, Catalogue, no.140, p.69, previously in the Parfitt Collection, sold in London, 8 February 1946, lot 14 and later from the Palmer Collection, sold in London, 27 November 1962, lot 14; and another with a peony spray at the centre and of the same size from the collection of Michel Calmann, Musée Guimet, Paris, illustrated by D. Lion-Goldschmidt, Ming Porcelain, no.45, p.77.
Compare also with a dish painted with a chrysanthemum spray in the centre and encircled by a peony scroll, sold in our Hong Kong Rooms, 26 September 1989, lot 561. A very similar copper-red version of this dish is illustrated by Joseph, Ming Porcelain, pl.18, p.44; another from the Avery Brundage Collection, M.H. de Young Memorial Museum, is illustrated by Sherman E.
