A 19th. Century gold and cameo archaeological revival bangle,
the shell cameo of the head of Medusa, crazed, in leaf and twist surround, the broad hinged shoulders with applied wirework to a snap clasp, in fitted case with manuscript notation Medusa cameo bracelet belonged to Joanna Mary Wells almost certainly chosen by her & H.T.W. for his wedding gift to her at the time of their marriage in Rome. Dec. 15.1857.
