4° (197 x 130mm). Roman type, occasional Greek. Initial spaces with guide-letter, woodcut printer's device at end. (Very light spotting on title.) Late 18th-century pigskin, narrow blind roll on sides, spine gilt with two leather labels, marbled edges.
Rabanus Maurus was a learned abbot of Fulda and archbishop of Mainz whose most important work, De universo, was an encyclopedia first published about 1473. VD-16 H-5272.
