2o (542 x 390 mm). 3 leaves letterpress description of plates. Lithographic title page and 25 tinted lithographic plates (two tints) by Louis Haghe, mounted on guards, printed titles in Turkish pasted beneath imprint. (Title with pale dampstain on fore-margin, plates 8, 9 and 10 with marginal dampstaining on the inner margin, plate 20 partially parted from guard, plate 24 with small chip to fore-margin). Contemporary quarter morocco, t.e.g. (rubbed, front hinge partly split, chipped at head and foot of spine). Provenance: Lionel H. Pries (ownership inscription on free endpaper, bookplates).

FIRST EDITION of probably the last work lithographed by Louis Haghe. The short text in the book was written from Fossati's notes by the Vicomte Adalbert de Beaumont and the design of the title-page is attributed to Owen Jones. Abbey Travel 396.
