EERO SAARINEN FOR KNOLL ASSOCIATES

The "Womb" chair was originally designed in 1948, after Florence Knoll declared to Saarinen that she was "sick of those chairs that hold you in one position." Accordingly, Saarinen produced a chair that one could slouch and lounge in.
