See Len and Yvonne Adams, Meissen Portrait Figures, London, 1987 for another example of this satirical rendering of a court scandal. According to the records the group depicts 'Oberlandbaumeister Krösseln, two actors, one dressed as a woman who is putting feather's into the man's cap.' The model was initially conceived by Jändler in 1741.
