A SEVRES 'FRISES A RUBANS' SOLITAIRE
Blue interlaced L's enclosing date letter K for 1763, painter's mark for Fontelliau, the sugar bowl incised T, the cup MB, the saucer B
Painted with a border of gilt-striped blue zig-zag ribbon entwined with a carmine ribbon gilt with laurel, the two edged with berried laurel and with a further shaped blue band gilt with stripes and edging the gilt line rim, comprising:
An octafoil tray, 9in. (23cm.) wide
An oviform teapot and cover (théière 'Calabre,' grandeur E), 3½in. (9cm.) high
A footed cream-jug (pot à lait 'à trois pieds,' 3eme grandeur), 33/8in. (8.6cm.) high
A sugar-bowl and cover (pot à sucre 'Calabre'), 25/8in. (6.3cm.) high
A cup and saucer (gobelet 'couvert' et soucoupe 'Bouillard,' 2eme grandeur), 23/8in. (6cm.) high, the cup; 4¾in. (12cm.) diameter, the saucer (6)
