A similarly marked and decorated sugar-bowl and cover is in the collection of the Wadsworth Athenuem, a gift of J. Pierpont Morgan (1917.1118). A matching teapot and cover is in the collection of The George R. Gardiner Museum of Ceramics Arts, Toronto (G.83.1.1078). It is likely that these pieces and the present cup and saucer were originally part of the same service.
