A LOUIS XV ORMOLU-MOUNTED TULIPWOOD AND KINGWOOD BUREAU PLAT
Basically mid-18th century with modifications
The gilt-tooled brown leather-inset serpentine rectangular top with molded edge and scrolled rocaille clasps, above three half-veneered frieze drawers each centered by a rocaille within a C-scroll flanked by scrolled rocailles meeting to form a handle, those on the side drawers asymmetrical, the central drawer flanked by scrolled reed-sheathed rocailles, each half-veneered panelled side centered by a pierced and scrolled rocaille mount cast with flowering acanthus, on cabriole legs each headed by a pierced and scrolled asymmetrical angle mount cast with flowering acanthus above reeded chutes and scrolled rocaille sabots, bearing the false stamps BVRB and IDUBOIS, the mounts regilt and later struck with the C-couronné poinçon
