A finely engineered and detailed model 4.7in. Mark IV Armstrong Quick Firing Coastal Defence Gun, circa 1880, mounted as a diorama,
the gun built by A. Walshaw, No. 392, with rifled barrel, opening breach, elevation and traverse mechanisms, dummy sighting telescope and firing control, pedestal mount and armoured turret with removable top, finished in grey, cream and polished brightwork. The gun is shown in a simulated concrete emplacement with uniformed members of the gun's crew going about their duties, with shells and brass shell cases, display base -- 15 x 37¾in. (38 x 96cm.)
