signed on the body-tube Smith & Beck, 6, Coleman St., LONDON, No. 2414, with rack and pinion focusing, double nose-piece, mechanical stage, micrometer fine adjustment, sub-stage wheel and Abbe condenser, three eyepieces, three objectives, polariser, lucida attachment, lieberkuhn, standing bull's-eye condenser, live-box and other items, in the original fitted mahogany case -- 16½in. (42cm.) wide; and an oxidised and lacquered-brass compound monocular microscope, signed on the folding stand J. SWIFT & SON LONDON : W, with rack and pinion coarse and micrometer fine focusing, prism, double nose-piece, circuit stage, sub-stage polariser and plano-concave mirror, with five objectives, in mahogany case with handle -- 12½in.
